Laminate Kitchen Worktop Surfaces
Laminates are a thin plastic surface, bonded to a substrate. Look out for varying quality here as different manufacturers fabricate them using varying techniques. The German laminates we provide are not only an incredibly well manufactured and reliable laminate worktop, but they also arrive already cut to size, with the joints and edging in place.
USE
A very versatile material that can be used anywhere in the kitchen.
STYLE
Finishes come in far more realistic imitations now with texture and depth – stone, wood, concrete, granite and marble effects.
DURABILITY
Laminate is very durable in terms of stain and scratch resistance; but be careful near water, heat and steam. If water gets into the joints and seeps into the core, then the worktop will blow and edging can start to delaminate. On the plus side, it is cheap to replace if you get any damages.
MAINTENANCE
Laminates are easy to clean and are very low maintenance. They can be installed quickly by a kitchen fitter rather than a worktop expert.
