Project Overview
Danby Interiors was commissioned to create a feature wall in the dining room for a Leeds client that would elegantly incorporate wine storage, while also providing functional space for cutlery, tableware, and glasses. The design needed to complement the existing dining table with warm, cohesive tones and visually connect to the kitchen’s wet area.
Kitchen Design Concept and Functional Requirements
To achieve a balanced feature wall, we designed a layout that combined open wine storage with concealed drawers, creating a streamlined look. By using the same Dekton Orix worktop featured in the kitchen, we introduced a cohesive accent that subtly links both spaces.
The client preferred a “floating” appearance for the units to add visual interest and a sense of lightness, avoiding a conventional cabinet look. Due to the non-structural nature of the wall, full wall-hung units were not an option, so we creatively achieved this effect by recessing supporting legs and disguising them with mirrored plinths.
Material Selection and Finishing Touches
The feature wall’s furniture includes Schuller Targa Bronze cabinetry, equipped with push-to-open wall units and drawers for a clean, handleless look.
Mirrored glass accents and Contempo Antique Bronze details bring warmth and sophistication, while the Dekton Orix worktop provides durability and an elegant finish.
Appliances and Custom Features
At the heart of this feature unit is a Dunavox 45cm wine cooler, designed to keep the client’s collection at the ideal temperature while showcasing it as a focal point. The mirrored glass and antique bronze elements add depth, creating an understated luxury that enhances the dining room ambiance.

The completed feature wall balances functionality with elegance, offering ample storage while enhancing the dining room’s visual appeal.
The floating effect, warm tones, and mirrored accents make this a striking yet harmonious addition to the residence, reflecting both style and practicality.
